Pool Subpanel

3873 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  gregzoll
I bought my house last year and I was doing some work on my pool. I need to add a new new 220v device to the panel. I noticed that the neutral and the ground are both attached to the same bar. See attached picture. Is this an acceptable procedure?

thanks

Joe

Nope. That sub-panel is not wired properly.

It needs to have a separate grounding bar, and all the bare wires moved to it. Also, the box bonding screw needs to be removed.

Is there a ground wire contained in the main incoming feeder?

KBsparky, did you notice the double tap? I would have to say that that is an old panel, or pulled out of a rehab job, and put there just recently. Also appears that that black in the middle of the bus bar is Aluminum.
