Just installed a new motor for a pool pump. The motor ran fine and I primed the pump and started it again...It filled up and then the motor started "stopping and starting" "cutting out and cutting in"...It is wired for 220 and the old one was also...Any ideas?

There are few combation of issue you have going on right now but I will list the possiblity issues.,

• Loose connection
• Air leak in suction
• Undersized pump { it do happend from time to time }

There may other issue but right now kinda focoused on loose connection that useally can kill the good electrique motour pretty fast.

You may need clamp on ampmeter to check the motour current drawage and also read the voltage when the motour is running { you can do this only if you are confortable with this if not then get a electrician to assist you on this one and pool motour is something you do not to fool around too much there are a bit of codes we have to follow.}

Merci.
