Was pretty much set on another steel building for my personal building but learned my county appraises them miles apart so I might prefer to reconsider the pole barn. Never built one but I know I want something tight and strong that will compare to steel performance.
I know actual loads per engineering calcs can be made to work out the same but that does not always tell the story in how they each perform against mother nature.
Just curious what you guys think of the 2 and if a pole barn can match up? I am shooting for a R19 wall and R30 roof and not yet sure how I am going to make that work. I can get 8ft wide glass but would need banded or something to hold it. I need the R value though so trying to figure this out.
