Looking For advice. New to the the whole building and framing part. I've never poured a footer or a foundation. Or even framed a small building. But have a good concept of wiring, plumbing, electrical. And now I want to build a 20x24 pole barn home. Might have a business pour foundation, and do roof idk yet. I'm trying to get a material list. And it's gonna be half living on top floor and garage on bottom, want 10ft ceiling on bottom and 8ft on top. Anybody want to help walk me through this process. From ground up.

Welcome

20x24.....Pole barn? No.....too small. To justify a pole barn you would need much higher walls and pole barns don't lend themselves well to 2-story construction. In cases like what you are talking about, you end up building a building inside the pole barn

for that size....traditional stick built.

But for any other details, need to know where you live (frost heave?) and what your soil is like.
