I'm about to screw plywood into the 2x6 ceiling joists - It's 3/4 inch plywood, and I have either 1 1/4 inch coarse thread drywall screws, or 2 inch fine thread drywall screws - which should I use, or is neither suitable?
plywood, then cover in drywall and screw in every 8inches, then redguard and tile - the ceiling over a schluter shower - plywood gives extra support with 20 inch joists
Not sure where these ideas are coming from. But coarse thread.. the length most be the depth of the material plus 1" and not more into the studs. The screws or nails will more if they are driven deeper than 1". So 2" would be better than 2 1/2"
