A friend of mine in CT wrote into my forum asking this. Can you help answer?

"I'm trying to weigh the pros/cons of plumbing a gas line over to our kitchen so I can install a gas stove. We have a gas furnace and water heater, and I'm a pretty skilled DIYer, but would still like some quotes and/or tips for getting it done professionally."

Is it legal for a HO to install their own gas lines in CT? Not sure. What type of pipe are they planning on using? What is the size of the feed pipe into the dwelling presently? How many BTUs are on the system at present & how many BTUs will the stove need? Lots of questions here. I personally do not feel that it is a DIY project.
