Hey guys a Postman here who buys storage lockers for a past time...
Hit one last week in Montreal, Canada...Had over 150+ pounds in new Copper fittings hidden in a huge tote. It consists of : -copper tees -copper elbows -female/male connectors -couplings -equal tees -elbows -reducing couplings ect...ect
Lots of DWV and commercial fittings(not sure what that means lol)...there all brand new...tons of small stuff too... I'd really appreciate it if you gentlemen wouldn't mind letting me know if I got something of value here or is it just scrap metal:vs_worry:...again its all brand new stuff.
I payed $375 for the storage unit...am I in the red or is this stuff easily resell-able.
All replies will be well read.
Cheers :glasses:

Everything is re-salable.

The trick is to find the person willing to pay top dollar for it.

You may wait for a few years to turn it over, and you may find someone who wants to buy it all at once for a reasonable price to both of you.

Sounds to me like a good supply for an "ARTISTE" that wants to make some funky sculptures.:devil3:

Welcome aboard! You may have a jack pot- maybe not. If you live in an area that has a fair amount of commercial construction you can probably resell it. But you'll only partial wholesale price. Copper isn't used much in residential work now- there are cheaper products available.

It will take some leg work, but I'd contact some commercial plumbing shops with pictures of your find and haggle over their offers- if they want to purchase it.

Your other recourse is the recycling center for scrap value

If you can find someone that wantsee to buy it as a lot for far less then what it would cost them to buy it at the store it may have been a deal.
Most plumbers only want to buy what they can use and not be bothered with have to sort it all out and have to store parts they may or may not need.
I tried to sell 7 rubber maid containers of brand new PVC fittings for over a year on Craig's list with no takers.
At least copper has a high scrap value if no one buys them.

true I guess at least id get scrap value if there's no takers
At scrape price you'll only get 200- 250. But you might resell other stuff in your shed and get ahead.

I worked at some commercial shops over the years. We had purchasing agents to buy out projects. Although they are busy guys, if you present them with a quick list or pictures of the stock and ask for a lump sum price I think you could move it. The key is to make it easy for them to talk to you- they won't respond to craigs list.

Several years ago, there was a large plumbing shop near me that was holding a liquidation auction. My boss went and bought tons of stuff. I was selected to help bring it back to the shop. We took a large flat bed truck and fork lift. Some of the stuff is still sitting out in their bone yard.....

IMO- The buyer is out there, the real question is how much is your time worth to find him because he probably won't come looking for you.

Do you have any pictures now? I'm curious to see what you have- not that I want it, but I can put in my 2 cents if it's actually worth pursuing a sale.

To move the stuff you need to act like a vacuum sales person. Get in the door, find the PA, owner/manager, project manager- somebody with buying clout.
As mentioned above- make a flyer with a picture and or list and at least get it in someone hands. Make it easy for them- they are used to calling a wholesale house for parts and having it delivered to their door, you have to compete with that...
