take the loose chip to lowes and have them match up the color in a paint. I wouldnt try and chance fixing it with a mortar/stucco just to screw the wll up any further...that would really piss the parents off....just clean it up the best you can and paint it.

Let them know, they were kids once too...

Especially if they are renting. Appears there is previous water damage by the stucco crack and darker color... go with that. Paint usually doesn't come off in big chunks as pictured, unless poor bond or moisture. IMO.

it's not really a different color the top coat of the wall according to the link from the other post...it's the sacrificial layer...nice article though

If that's stucco it looks way to thin. Depot has a texture patch with sand in it that looks a lot like the pic. but still take a chip about the size of a quarter with you to match the paint.
