Hi

I am replacing an in sink erator & need some help with splicing the plug I cut off of the broken erator onto the new erator. There are 3 wires comeing from the plug I cut off of the broken erator, the middle wire is green & the 2 outer wires are black. I think the green wire is the ground & I see a green ground screw for it on the new erator. The 2 wires coming from the new erator are colored white & black. Can anyone help me with which of the black wires coming from the plug I cut off the broken erator goes to the white wire coming from the new erator & which black wire from the plug goes to the black wire coming from the erator? Thanks

The conductor on the ribbed side of the cord is the white.
Thanks for that info Jim Port.

PS: Just to confirm, in the bottom pic of the wire that I posted above, is the ribbed side on the left of the wire & in the middle pic is the ribbed side on the bottom? Just checking to make sure I'm understanding you. I'm likely being a bit paranoid but I hate working with electricity until I'm sure of what I'm doing. Thanks
