If you dont have soldering skills or just dont like it, sharkbytes make it a very simple fix Joe. I have some over six years old and still no leaks.
If you go the sharkbyte route; I would get sharkbyte tee, couple sharkbyte couplings, and some extra pipe to make the repair. You can always bring back what you dont need.
