Tapered pipe threads is all i use PTFE on but on any other screwed plumbing fitting i apply a dab of plumber's grease to make ease of removal easier 20 years later when water minerals have attempted to make things difficult.
Ok, thank you guysYou can use something for lubricant, but you don't need a sealant on a compression fitting. Most likely (hopefully) you will be using SS braided supply lines. They have a rubber washer inside that doesn't require thread sealant.
