PFTE on sharkbite threads?

583 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Ghostmaker
I just connected my angle SharkBite valves on the supplies under the sink. Getting ready to connect it to the lines on the faucet and I was just wondering if it is standard procedure to use PTFE on the threads before connecting? I can't find anything about it on Google.

Tapered pipe threads is all i use PTFE on but on any other screwed plumbing fitting i apply a dab of plumber's grease to make ease of removal easier 20 years later when water minerals have attempted to make things difficult.
You can use something for lubricant, but you don't need a sealant on a compression fitting. Most likely (hopefully) you will be using SS braided supply lines. They have a rubber washer inside that doesn't require thread sealant.
Ok, thank you guys
