does anyone know the pros/cons of the plastic vs the brass quick connect fittings, or any advantages of one over the other?

there was a problem with some of the brass fittings 2 years ago .google class action lawsuits, I don't remember the particulars
of why or what brand . I always use the poly fittings .to use the similar materials seems safer to me

Only time I use any quick connect fittings is for temp. work. They're are too expensive and too new of a product.
