I just purchased a 6-family building in Brooklyn and I want to have my roof replaced (completely new). Do you know if a Permit is needed to do this? I don't plan on doing other work at the moment, just the roof.

Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Not where I live, but a simple call to your local building dept. will answer the question.

I finally found out (on nyc.gov) that a permit is not needed for flat roofs- thanks!
