We are wanting to build a pergola on a wooden deck that is raised about 4 feet off the ground. Looking for suggestions on how to best secure the posts without having go under the deck, dig and concrete them in.

metal post bases and then wrap with cpvc if not wanting to see the bases. may need to fortify floor under post base to have something to attach base to.

Depends on what you mean by pergola. They can be nice light little deals that are easily attached to the floorboards as Lon as they are over a joist. Others are like two bye six or two bye eight construction with all. Kinds of hanging plant baskets, etc.

If you are doing the latter, four feet islenty of space to climb under and dig. Ron
