I'm building a basic wood pergola over my back patio. I will be pouring concrete to extend the patio which I'll build the pergola over, so I can pour my corner footings rather than drilling into existing concrete.

I'm trying to figure out what is the best tie down for 6x6 corner posts. I found this catalogue from Simpson, and am wondering if anybody has done this before and has a recommendation?

Thanks!

I used the AB - drilled hole in the concrete and inserted expanding anchor bolt.

The biggie is to have athe spacer under the post to keep it from direct contact with the concrete, elevated from being in water, and to dry out throughly.

AB Tie

Thank you both. Is this true even if I pour my own footings and don't have to drill into pre-existing concrete? I'm just looking for the most structural support, and being that I will pour fresh I'm wondering if there's any difference.

Thanks,

Tyler
