* Buy PERGO vs SHAW LAMINATE FLOOR - LOWER LEVEL FAMILY ROOM ???????

will be replacing my carpeting in the lower level, 4 ft below ground, with laminate flooring.... not sure which brand to buy?

may be between SHAW Laminate we saw at Menards, rand style is ML 239, Natural Appeal, Sierra Oak, ,, which states to have a 40 YR Limited Warranty...........not sure what that means.

2nd brand,,, is Pergo, Style: Pergo/Presto, Bridgport Red Oak,,, saw at Home Depot......25 Yr residential warranty,,, not sure what that means....

I know we'll need to lay down a proper foam underlayment.

ANY OPINIONS OF PROS & CONS OF EITHER BRANDS?

Thanks much.

just get the cheaper one. If the floor does not have an underpad be sure to lay underlayment. 40 year warranty... who cares you will probably cange the floor 2 more times in that time span or will have moved

I've sold both in the past and do a lot more with Shaw than I ever did with Pergo. Pergo quality has suffered in recent years as well. Shaw has always stood behind their product exceptionally well in my experience.
