I’m new to vinyl peel & stick floor tile. It seems like a terrible idea but I’m doing it for someone else. This is a small mud room with existing peel & stick tiles that were laid over linoleum which was laid over a plywood subfloor. I’m in the process of scraping it all up. Assuming the subfloor is clean, the tile installation info says to just start sticking it. I’m wondering if I should just go ahead and use glue or would that not work well with the adhesive on the tile backs. Anyone else have experience here?

No glue required for things like lifeproof vinyl floor planks on very clean surface.
Follow the preparation instructions before starting tiling.

You can - it doesn't hurt & can even help - just make sure it is a very very thin coat & you allow it to fully dry before laying tile. Get it right the first time because resetting is not an option
