I''m going to have a contractor mudjack our small patio in a few weeks. I have a 14 yr old wooden patio step which is basically, to say it gently, is ready to be replaced. It's warped, faded, etc.....

At the big box store I noticed that they sell 2-3 ft or 6 ft concrete block steps. Is this a good idea vs brick pavers for example? Or should I stick to the wooden step and just replace it?

Just make sure you have a landing at the top of the steps. An immediate step up or step down at the door is asking for problems.

You will not be able to determine the dimensions needed for height untill after the mudjacking is completed.
