I am putting in a 12 by 13 ft patio. When I started digging and leveling (putting in a 1/4" slope for every foot) I realized I will end up with my pavers on the south side being 7 inches below my grass.
For clarification -The South side of my yard is higher than the North
Here are my questions -
My yard slopes slightly down to the North, toward our home should I slope the patio South (away from our home but onto higher land?? My other alternative would be to slope it East, which would also be away from the house (the north east corner would be near the foundation for the garage.
Also, how do I make a flat patio when my ground slopes??? Should I just slope the grass down to meet the patio?
Thanks so much!
