Is an electrical panel in the bedroom a code violation?

I'm looking at a house currently to buy. The garage was converted to a bedroom, so the panel is now located in what is called the master bedroom.

Nope. Not typical. Are there permits for the conversion or is it a bonus room?

As long as you have the proper clearance in front of the panel for access, bedrooms are fine by code.
