Was buying pallets of 80 lbs bags of cement from Lowes for $114+ and they raised the price, so not over $195. I saw a place where a pallet goes for $105, with free shipping, but did not bookmark it, so cannot find it again.


If anyone has a good source for this would appreciate a link to buy!


Oh yes pallets of cement are 42 bags, 7 bags per layer 6 layers deep. If it's not 42 bags it was repackaged after coming from the factory.

Next, the pallet you saw online is surely either sold or withdrawn by the idiot that posted it. Shipping it would cost more than $105.



Your best bet is to shop around locally. Any online price for something that heavy and readily available that needs to be shipped is a scam. There's no way to beat the price on 1 pallet of cement or concrete from a retailer that gets it by the truckload from the nearest train station. Just the shipping on 3400 lbs, even by common carrier freight, will cost more than $200.


I think even the current Lowes price of $4.64 each for 80 lb bags of concrete mix is a pretty good deal; at least it would be around here. If you're talking cement, that's a steal.

No $114 at Lowes was the price of a 42 bag pallet. Now must find lower price and $105 is not out of sight. It's the free shipping part that might be questionable.

Cement is one component of concrete (and several other things, such as mortar and grout). Concrete is a mixture of cement, aggregates (sand, gravel, etc.), and sometimes other components. If you go into Lowes and ask for a bag of cement, you'll likely get a bag of cement, which will will not make concrete unless you add your own aggregates in the right proportions. Otherwise, you'll have a crumbly mess with very little strength and lots of cracks.
