My house has a variety of mostly Pella windows and doors. Several of the windows are wood exterior while others are aluminum. All the doors are wood.

We would like to paint all the exterior windows and doors black. Am I asking for trouble if I paint them black due to heat retention? The ones shown are under a covered patio so they don't get direct sunlight, but a few on the front of the house do.

What are my options?

I don't recall ever painting any aluminum windows black but have painted quite a few with dark colors. Just make sure they are clean [no cleaner residue also] The only issue I know of is with double hung windows - the paint might wear away with use.
