I'm building a small shed in my backyard, and most everything else I've built out there I've used a semi-transparent russet stain (paint on, not wipe). I'm wondering if the T1-11 will accept the stain like a piece of 2x4 or because it's a plywood it won't be as receptive and will go on odd looking.

So my question is will the stain be fine, or should I use a solid color?

Solid color stain on T1-11 works well. I've used SW's Woodscapes many times on t-111. I have several jobs going on 12 years with it and no problems although they are fading a bit.........

Thanks Gymschu,

I figured it would be a solid color, cause I already put a semi transparent stain on there and I don't like the way it looks. I'm going to get some of the paint you recommended but my new question is, should I or can I even sand off the stain I just applied and add the solid color, or can I just paint right over it and there shouldn't be an issue?

I've never had an issue going over semi-transparent. As long as it's a clean, sound surface, the Woodscapes will go right over top.

Painting over the semitransparent stain won't make it any darker than the other sides?
So one side has semi on it and the other sides don't? I don't foresee any problems. The Woodscapes is "paint-like" in coverage. Two coats give a nice uniform matte finish. If there's a way to test it out on an inconspicuous area like eaves, etc. that would be the way to make sure it's all going to blend together for a uniform finish.

You had the right understanding Gymschu, and I painted over the semi-transparent side with a different solid color and it looks amazing! I wish I would have done this from the start, could've saved myself $70 or so on two other stains that I didn't care for.
