My dad is planning to paint his shed which is covered in very rough plywood siding.
It looks like its going to so suck up paint like not other, so I wanted to know what type/brand or primer would be good to use.

I figure we'll need 3/4" nap roller maybe even 1". Prefer to use latex for easy cleanup.

Jen, I would recommend using a solid stain as opposed to primer/paint. Every brand paint company offers one, and then there are the stain companies like Cabot's, Sikkens, etc. Stain will wear better and be easier in the out years with maintenance.

Do you have a brand recommendation?

I see that Sherwin Williams has something called Woodscapes and it comes is a pretty good variety of colors

I haven't used Woodscapes, but I found Deckscapes to be a nice product and easy to apply. I'm certain the techology is the same. That would be a good, safe choice. That was easy, next. lol.
