I'm refinishing some metal exterior doors for my son who is a locksmith. Can anyone recommend a primer/top coat to refinish these? I will be spraying the finishes. Thanks
I just use a quality exterior, like Moorglo. I dont prime unless theres bare metal. Without pics, I am assuming they are in good shape... I just clean and scuff sand, and topcoat. Are they just regular residential doors, or what?
refinish is really a word for taking stained and clear coated wood back to bare wood and starting over. I dont think thats what you mean.
Most residential steel doors require latex paint. The metal is thin and prone to expand/contract with temp changes. Latex will give a little while oil base will not.
My SOP is the same as Woodco.
