Painting after Wallpaper removal?

2324 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  chrisn
I just recently removed wallpaper from my son bedroom. Everything went fine untill the paint they wallpapered over started to peel off from the chemical used to remove it. The walls are plaster, it's an older home by the way. I know I have to wash the rest of the glue off to give me a good primer surface. What do I do with the areas where the paint is peeling off? Sand, Scrape?

I personally would redo the wall properly...sand it down and restart!
Thats what I was afraid of :(! Thanks much for the reply now I am going to get a sander!!
Sand it down and completely repaint it the is the best way if you want to achieve a good and quality paint on your wall..
Thanks for all your help guys much appreciated!!
You may also want to coat with Gardz after you get the failing products off the wall. Gardz can "lock down" wallpaper glue.

And no, I don't work for Zinsser.
