If I'm painting the front door in an accent color, is it weird not to paint the interior side of that door? What's the standard on this?
I know the ole' " it's your house, do what you want," but as a designer I've seen too many homeowners creating an amateur look because they didn't know the correct way to do something.

Thanks!

My approach that I was taught and have followed ever since I started painting has always been to paint the outside of the door and the 'leading edge' or edge you see when you open the door the same colour.

Same with the inside. Paint the face and edge you see when you open the door the same.

If there is a standard, it would be this.

Generally the inside of entrance doors are painted with the interior trim color even if the exterior side is an accent color.
