well i need some advice on what to do with this paint problem

Small bubbling like that is usually moisture-related and most likely caused by using the shower/bath before the paint had a chance to cure.

Sand out the bubbles, spot-prime with a fast-dry primer like Zinnser 1-2-3 and refinish.

Be sure the room is well ventilated when using hot water,

That yellow is surfactant that normally dries into the film; it is like soap, which helps the oils and the water in paint coalesce together. It is moisture-related during the curing process. Its leaching out will not hurt the integrity of the film. It will wash off with clear water on a rag. Do it while it is fresh. It may recur until the paint is fully cured.

Is installing a ceiling light/fan that vents to the outside feasible? I bought a Panasonic fixture and it works great.

I agree with venting is priority, window or fan preferred (for a palce this wet, would book fan to light switch, when in use, fan is on). For registers, use aluminum, no paint, anodized preferred- more corrosion resistant.. Cheap. When register is nasty, replace. For paint on walls, prefer semi-gloss enamel.

Fan vent can be flex 3" aluminum run to where it can point out existing attic vent. I avoid protrusions through the roof, simpler, cheaper and one less protrusion to leak and work around and just a cleaner looking roof. I've seen guys that think everything has to go through roof where it is, they are mistaken and they have too many roof jacks, unsightly, expensive and more to maintain and keep from leaking. I will even run all plumbing vents together with appropriate slope and make just one 3or 4" vent through where possible. This is within code as well.

i am hoping in 5 years i can replace the roof with a higher pitch. and move the ductwork inside the attic space and the inside ductwork into the attic as well

I find that setup annoying, personally. Maybe you or your guests will too. If it's important, you can hook up a humidity sensing fan, although they're more expensive.

right now this is not about an exust fan, when i get to that point in my remodeling i will as for options about them.

In Joe's defense I must add that his computer may not have that handy ABC thing in the corner. Mine doesn't.

But Joe...seriously.. everybody makes typo's from time to time, but its easy to see a certain painter is going insane.

He has tools ya know and personally I wouldn't take the risk that the spelling corrections may end up being painted somewhere.

In my area the code still reads an exhaust fan or window. But I agree the window doesn't work. Although it's not the best you could run the exhaust out thru the soffit vent. Would certainly be better than you have now.

In theory for the most part I quite agree. We are not here to be corrected grammatically or to act as grade school teachers for others.


But I think there is a little bit of good natured teasing going on with the fellas because they are all such regular and avid posters.:jester:

These guys have a little history with each other and a little poke is ok don't you think?

I doubt anyone would feel the need to point out the mistakes of newcomers.
