Hi, I'm new here and maybe it's been covered. I couldn't find it so sorry if this is a repeat question.

I completely sanded down my front door. I then used a latex primer and painted over that with latex. Everything looked good. Hung the door and a couple days later I noticed the paint peeling where it rests against the weather stripping. Anyway to prevent the peeling? Without getting rid of the weather stripping.

Thanks

Rub some vaseline on the weather stripping and it will solve it. Don't glob it on. Take a rag and little dabs and just give it a shiny appearance, an oily film. I carry a little travel size of it in the truck for that very reason. I also remove the weather stripping for a day to give the door time to dry and then reinstall. However, some paints will continue to stick long after.
