Putting in new vanity when found a p-trap problem.

My sink drain pipe is too close to the PVC drain on the wall.
See picture please.
Current p-trap COULD be cut to fit but it would have to be so much of a cut that there would be no straight portion of p-trap pipe going into adapter.
What are our options? Cut the PVC behind adapter and cement in new adapter?
Thanks

Your missing the escutcheon plate anyway, and the pipe would need to be cut to get it on.
That tail piece on the sink can also be cut shorter if needed.
