I need a 10" high over oven microwave. Can't seem to find anything that fits the spec. I'm looking at a complete remodel in a couple years and will eventually change out everything but for now I need to make some counter space. The width is 30" but I don't need to fill that space. I guess if there isn't any product that will fit I will just put a shelf in for the counter mic I have now.

Just about every over the range MW's I've installed have been 30" wide by approx 16-16 1/2" tall. If you are going with standard height wall cabinets at 30", use a 15" cabinet above and the MW will hang about an inch below. If you want a little more clearance between the stove and it, go with a 12" cabinet above. Do you have a clearance issue that would prevent a standard size MW to be used?

I do. The dingalings who installed the cabs put them low. This is a temporary fix until I do the kitchen makeover. My little countertop MW is fine. I guess I'll live with it for now.

If this is just temporary until you re-do the kitchen then I would not look for anything special. No sense in that. Use a standard counter top microwave and simply install a shelf over the stove to sit it on. If done well it can almost look built-in.

Thanks Bob. I'm guessing that is the only option. I haven't been able to find a small over range. No sweat.
