Afternoon all, remodeling entire kitchen and want to do under cabinet lighting (maybe some in cabinet also). What do you all recommend for wiring and/or type of lighting. I would want something that can be dimmed (and most likely hooked up to some type of zwave switch). I know that some LED strip lighting can get very expensive while I see deals for LED lighting for very cheap. Any recommendations for brands? I know some of the cabinet places I went to offered to install lighting, but I'm skeptical as to the quality.

Also, is there any alternative to the electrical outlets every X feet per code? The aesthetics of the outlets are not appealing.

i gutted my kitchen to studs. i ran 120v outlets to each cabinet bank, 3. 1 outlet inside a cabinet. all connected to 1 switch. i used $40 each led multi colored & dim-able for each bank. transformer is just in the back of the cabinet plugged in. drill small hole on the back for the low voltage light wire AND the sensor ! then just put the led's where you want them and run the wire.

each cabinet bank has one of these. the light itself can be daisy chained over to the next cabinet.

see the back corner where the wire comes out. there is a little black square, that is the sensor for the remote.

oh. one thing i love about doing it this way = the transformers are off when the lights are off.
