I am pretty familiar with the electrical regs. This one has me a little puzzled.

I am going to tap into an outdoor light and use conduit to run to another light. I am going to remove the existing outdoor light and put one of these outdoor boxes over the existing in wall box. So I can run conduit off of it.

How do you reinstall the original light over the new outdoor box?? The original light is something similar to this one.

Is there an adapter?? I don't think it will fit directly. With the hollow base of this style of light fixture. Or another idea?

All you need is a fixture bar which may be on the existing fixtures.

That fixture will not install properly on a round weatherproof box.

What is the proper way?? I hate to cob it and tuck romex under the fixture. Besides getting behind the drywall.

I thought of that, but it will leave the back open for insects or whatever.

Figured it out... I was able to run the fish tape, through the box, up the wall, and though a hole under the soffit. Was able to put the light back nice and neat.
