Has anyone here ordered blinds from an online company, such as blinds dot com? There is also blindster dot com. I hear their commercials on the radio, but wonder if their products and service are good. The reason I'm asking is that I have 2 windows that need either blinds or curtains.

One of my customers ordered from blinds.com

These were very long patio door blinds--I broke a plastic clip while working on the ceiling----

They sent out the entire rail at no charge----I'd say they are a stand up company.

I installed for 28 years. They are a decent company.

Just be sure you order correctly. Confirm the standard deduction for inside mount ( IB, .5" is is the norm but some companies doe .375) and take really accurate measurements rounding down to the nearest 1/8".

You always have the option to order "exact size" but newbies are better off with standard deductions.

Be sure to pick up a 1/4" hex head bit for your cordless drill. The included screws are usually 1/4" hex/ flat combos or sometimes hex/ Phillips combos. Hex always has a better grip.

I've ordered several Bali mini-blinds via the home depot web site.

Took about a week for them to make it, and a few more days for free FedEx delivery.

Very good customer service. In fact I made a fat-fingered typo error when I ordered and put in the wrong dimension. I called them the next day and told them to change the order. They said "no problem, we can't stop the order once it starts, but we'll order the new ones for you, and you don't have to return the wrong one." They just requested that I donate them to Habitat ReStore.

The blinds I got, 1" aluminum, are very nice. The only problem is that the blinds I got are very wide and they didn't include a center support arm for the blinds, just the end supports. I happened to have an extra in my junk drawer so no problem. (Sometimes it pays to be a pack rat.)

If you can wait, they have a 20% off sale several times a year.
