I wish to run two 20/2ga dedicated lines (dishwasher and garbage disposal) from my breaker box (two 20 amp circuit breakers) to one plug outlet? Do I merely "open" the top and bottom side connections on each side the outlet? Then connect the disposal to the bottom "plug" and the dishwasher to the top "plug'? And what rating outlet should I use?

I have total access to the wall (and attic to breaker box) so I was planing on running 2) 2 wire lines. I was hoping to place a switch in the same box as the new outlet. Handle tying the breakers is no prob, didn't know about that!

Install a 2 gang box with separate receptacles. No handle ties required with separate cables. And you can use 15 amp receptacles with this configuration.

Handle tie required for MWBC and 2 circuits on same yoke. Not required when 2 circuits in same box. But not a problem if you want to do it.

Not a code issue to have 2 circuits in the same box.
Thanks for that. I am in the process of 'correcting' all the back-stabbed connections as I repaint rooms and moments ago found two boxes with two circuits. Shows the need to prove circuits safe before poking around in them.

That is true even if there is only 1 circuit.
