Im currently remodeling my garage into a mother-in-law suite, and ive got an old water heater vent thats needs to go. Ive never seen it leak during rain or anything, and ive seen hundreds of these old vents abandoned in old attics. But before I chop it up in the attic and forget about, does anyone recommend capping it or anything so to prevent any leaking down the road?
Like I said I changed the WH from gas to electric a few years back, and I just cut it enough to get the new one in. I haven't seen any leaking, but im feeling a bit cautious. What do you think?
