does anyone have experience removing pocket doors on older hardware? i can get the door(s) into the opening and able to swing them, but they are double wheeld axles in two sided tracks, so they don't just lift off. there must be a method to release the trolley from the wheels. the track appears to be screwed into cast iron brackets with captive screws. Thanks.

You can usually unscrew the track, let it droop as you swing the door down and out, then slide it off of the track. Lot of different old pocket door dardware.

Track and trolly stay put---the trolly often has a release where the post meets the top of the door---
some times it will have a jamb nut that keeps the trolly drop post from coming loose from the door top plate---

How old is it? I have worked a few of these--1863 what the oldest---
