# of wires per NM Cable clamp

I am adding some recessed ceiling lights. On the package of cable clamps it says "for one or two 14-2 to 12-2 cables". Is it ok then to use one clamp for two wires into the box or do I need to use one clamp per wire?

If it says it's OK for 2 then it's OK for two.
As long as the clamp is rated for one or two cables you can use them. The only caveat is that the cables must be in the size range specified.
That's what I thought, so there isn't a code issue for the number of wires per clamp into a metal box?

Not in the code per say. But for the UL & manufacturer listing, I think. If you do not follow the proper installation listing you would be in violation of the code. Does that make any sense?
