I'm trying to find the answer to something that sounds so simple, but not easily found (at least for me.)
I have a 2004 (I believe) Trane XB12 heat pump model number: 2TWB2060A1000AA
I would like to replace my current thermostat with a Venstar T1700 thermostat. I have seven wires, all different colors, going to the existing thermostat which I took note where they were connected. I have an orange wire going to a "O/B" terminal because it is a heat pump and the same terminal exists on the new thermostat, however the new thermostat has a jumper the original thermostat does not that is to tell the thermostat whether it is for an O reversing valve or a B reversing valve.
Now, for the life of me, I cannot find anything in the heat pump owner's manual that tells me whether I have an O or B reversing valve. The thermostat manual just says:
"…the thermostat jumper is set for an O reversing valve (energized in
cooling) or a B reversing valve (energized in heating)"
How can I find out the simple answer so I know how to set this jumper? Thanks!
