How many devices can be on one circuit. I am in upstate New York. Is there a limit like in Canada? I have six recessed cans, three under cab light sections and two pendants. All will be led except cfl's in the pendants.

There is no set limit in the NEC. There may be a local or state limit. There is a limit (I think) of 11 in Canada.

The limit in Canada is 12 outlets(lights, fans, receptacles, etc). No limit that I know of in NEC.

Add up the allowable wattage on each fixture and go from there .

In usa side there is no limit AFAIK., but in Canada side., Oui there is limit 12 devices. ( light socket , switch or receptlales )

The other thing when you sized the circuit with the recessed can we always go by the manufacter max wattage it will listed in the recessed cans reguardless of which type of lamps it being used.

You are limited to one 15A general lighting circuit for every 600 sq ft of living space. There is no limit to the number of receptacles on each circuit. If supply lighting outlets, use the maximum wattage allowed for each fixture as a base line and go from there.

So, does this mean that I can only have one lighting circuit for my 325sf kitchen?

In Canada switches do not count as devices towards the 12 limit. They do not use power.
