NPT Male to NPS Female

Hi,

I have a brass utility tub faucet that has 1/2" female IPS Unions. I am using Sharkbite fittings and the closest I can find is a mnpt sharkbite.

Can I join the male mnpt to the female IPS? If not, what other solutions ae available?

Thanks

Rich

That's what I thought at first, but found that most sources advise of not joining the two types.

The IPS, also called NPS, is a straight thread, while the NPT is a tapered thread.
Rght, but the male npt will not screw down low enough to engage the ring.
So what I was looking for, is what they showed in the product picture. A fitting that joins standard 1/2" copper pipe to a IPS (NPS) thread. That picture is exactly what I had in mind.
