No. They would need to be grounded. Use metal boxes or plastic button type connectors.A have dozens of new metal cable clamps. R they ok to use on a blue plastic junction box??
I hate those with a passion. I just go with the same route the OP did.Not a box I would ever use bit if I did I would use the snap in plastic buttons.
Care to cite. They have been used in that way more times then anyone can count. No ground lug needed, because the box is Plastic not metal.Nope, can't do that unless you want to go buy a whole bunch of GRLs (Groundable Lock rings) and tag them with your ground wire. all metal parts must be bonded together.
Cheaper option, go buy a bag of the plastic type connectors
I would, unless you use a Smart box after throwing up the drywall and go back to cut the holes.I'm with Greg on this. Keep in mind a plastic 1900 box used for devices would get a metal plaster ring, wouldn't it? How would you ground that?
I know this will not be answered, but, Greg, can to cite the allowance for this? Please provide the code article.Care to cite. They have been used in that way more times then anyone can count. No ground lug needed, because the box is Plastic not metal.
NEC states "Not Required", not "Illegal", when the NM clamps are used with Smart Boxes and the PVC or Fiberglass boxes. That means that the NEC considers it personal choice if you wish to use the NM or MC/AC clamps on that particular style of box.
Could that possibly be a Canadian regulation? I've never seen it in NEC codes.Nope, can't do that unless you want to go buy a whole bunch of GRLs (Groundable Lock rings) and tag them with your ground wire. all metal parts must be bonded together.

Sadly it is.Could that possibly be a Canadian regulation? I've never seen it in NEC codes.
