Not sure if it going out, but it has gotten much louder recently. It's just a loud hmmmm noise. Have not approached them yet, was wondering if the sound travels horizontally and if putting 4 x 8 sheets of treated plywood on fence would knock down the noise?

Thoughts?

Talking to them might alert them to a problem they are unaware of. Doing it in a way that is non confrontational might allow their response to be more empathetic than defensive.

If your houses are close together, and their co- operation is not possible, I would consider a fence material that better baffles or absorbs sound, rather than the plywood which might just reflect the sound back and forth between your house walls.

Relationship is excellent, although they are new. The current fence is cedar boards.

So I guess a talk is in order! Sads thing is, my son just had all new windows put in and did little to knock this down.

Thanks
