Hot water heater went. Cut out old heater and capped the water lines. So the cold works every where in the house. However now the shower in the bathroom does not work. I wonder why? Does that sound like a bad cartridge? The shower had work before pulling the water heater. The toilet and sinkhave water going to them.

If you don't have pressure on the hot side then a Moen pressure balancing valve will not work.
I read that you have not installed the new heater?

No hot water at shower no shower at all. It's normal.

No heater yet. The whole house is more just storage but I do eat and shower there from time to time. I clean up and do my laundry there before heading home on dirty days as well.

If you like cold showers you need to run the cold water to the hot side when you do not have a hot water tank. So you have water on both inlets.
