Guys, I have a goodman RTU that won't spark. I have already replaced the spark ignitor because I thought that was the issue. I'm getting 24v on 3 trial, gas valve opens. The spark ignitor never spark once.
I don't know what the transformers rated on your unit. But it's usually something that I don't put a meter on as some can damage the meter because of such high voltage.
If it doesn't spark and its calling for heat and performing an ignition trial, it's likely the board/ignition control. Pull the ignitor cable off the ignition control and hold it very close to the terminal. If it still doesn't spark it's likely the control.
5000-7000 VAC. Oil can be higher.
>=70 VAC will be used for the flamesensor.
You can manually light it using a long BBQ lighter during the trial for ignition. Obviously it's not a real solution, but will prove that your ignition control is defective, but everything else is working fine.
