I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I figure that plumbers deal with sinks a lot, so maybe you guys can help me out.

I recently purchased a Ronbow CB2031 sink/vanity top for my bathroom renovation: http://www.ronbow.com/product.php?s=CB2025-31-37-49&cid=9

My problem is that I am concerned about not having a backsplash and sidesplash (one side will be butted against a wall). I am not planning on tiling behind the sink, so it will just be drywall. I honestly don't want to have a backsplash or sidesplash, for aethetic reasons, but I am concerned about water getting on the wall.

So, my question is this: is it unusual or a bad idea to not have a backsplash and sidesplash on a bathroom sink? I will be using Sherwin Williams Bath Paint on the drywall, if it makes a difference.

The picture on the manufacturer's website even show the sink installed without a backsplash, so that's what got me wondering. The back of the sink top does have a tiny lip on it. Also, Ronbow does not offer any accessory back/sidesplashes that go with this sink.

Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts or advice on this.

Thanks,

Andrew

IMO, you'll regret not having a backsplash. Paint will not last long.
Ok...but what are my options if the manufacturer doesn't even make one to go with that sink, and I don't want to tile it?

I'm kind of baffled that such a common piece is not even offered as an accessory with this sink. I know other manufacturers makes them that are the same width (31"), but I doubt the whites would be a perfect match.
