We stained our deck last year after having it cleaned, supposedly professionally cleaned. The stain is disappearing like its just dissolving. He used a bleach solution. We have stained this deck before with the same stain and it lasted 7 years before it needed to be re-stained. What is happening?
Thanks

What was used to clean it?

Not that it might be the problem depending on your answer to the above question, but perhaps it may be that Cabot has re-formulated most products to comply with EPA standards, and they are not as good as they used to be

Again, this may be a moot point depending on what was used to clean the surface

Bleach. We went to VT to get the stain as they haven't been required to change to the lower VOC formulas. So the stain shouldn't be the problem. Literally the stain just seems to be dissolving.
