Hello,

I'm looking for ideas about how to deal with a slightly too-tall dishwasher.

We are putting bamboo floor in our kitchen that will raise the floor height about 3/8 inch, which means our DW will no longer fit, unless we were to just put the flooring in front of it and block it in. That seems like a bad idea, since sooner or later the DW will be replaced.

We are adding granite countertops, so I assume they can't be moved to allow the DW to be removed.

It seems that the DW height can't be adjusted any shorter.

I could buy a slightly shorter (33.5) inch dishwasher, but there aren't that many to choose from.

Or do something weird with the floors such that the boards could be removed?

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

If you are replacing the counter tops the solution is simple.

Before the tops are installed add a 1/2 or 3/4 inch strip of wood to the tops of the cabinets ---

That's a fairly common fix and won't be too noticeable if you make an effort to match the wood and stain to the existing cabinets.

oh man, that is brilliant! the cabinets are just painted white, and we were probably going to repaint them anyway at some point.
Thanks so much :)

Still open to hearing any other ideas if people have them...
