Since everyone was such a huge help with the low slope issue material choice I had I thought I would ask about.

Any suggestions to make this better and do away with the exposed wood, do away and replace with shingles?

I would give consideration to carrying the elevated shingle line all they way to the edge so it looked like the other side.

are you getting rid of the power fan(s) when you redo the roof?
