Oh forgot to mention that the flange is hard plastic not the iron kind so the holes for the bolts cannot slide out sideways . I just can't face pulling up the floor I just put in to replace the bolts. the flange sits even with the floor .
New subfloor , replaced toilet- problems
I replaced the subfloor in a small bathroom after a water leak, I think the plywood I replaced the osb with is thicker than the osb. Now when I try to put the toilet back on the toilet leaks at the base. I have tried the number 1 & the number 3 with sleeve wax rings but it doesnt matter the toilet still leaks at the base. I was still able to tighten the nuts on the bolts so I can't figure out why it is leaking. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

go to plumbing supply and ask them to give you a pvc flange extension. the bottom of the flange should be even with the top of the finished floor. they will give you instructions on how to put it onOh forgot to mention that the flange is hard plastic not the iron kind so the holes for the bolts cannot slide out sideways . Toilet Flange
I agree, get a add on flange that will sit flush with the top of the finished floor. Also I have had problem with the wax ring and the (black insert) inside the wax ring. You can trim off the bottom of the black insert and fit it to the new flange. My best results, put the wax ring on the Floor Waste flange first. The balance the toilet over the 2 brass stems and let it down slowly. That way your are directly over the "hole" your stems are lined up. Press around the toilet and even sit on it! Then assemble your washers and bolts, cut off extra stems and snap on cap.:thumbup:

I completely agree. A flange extension kit is in order and should remedy the problem.
